Dr Paul Richardson

Dr Paul Richardson

Principal Dentist & Owner

Paul Richardson qualified at the Edinburgh Dental School, Faculty of Medicine at Edinburgh University in 1981 and has since been the principal practitioner at the Brixham Dental Practice.

Throughout his career he has regularly attended higher post-graduate courses. This has given him the opportunity to further his interests in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry. In turn this has helped to ensure that his patients receive the very best that today’s modern dentistry can offer.

Paul has a wide range of experience when dealing with difficult and complex dental treatments. He has designed and created thousands of beautiful smiles for patients, in addition to providing general dentistry. In his spare time Paul enjoys being outdoors, walking his dog and exploring the Moors.

Dr Anne Green

Dr Anne Green

Cosmetic & Restorative Dentist

After qualifying from University of Bristol in 2011, Anne worked as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Torbay Hospital, then as a specialist restorative dentist in the dental department. She joined Brixham Dental Practice in 2014 and has worked here since carrying out general and cosmetic dentistry.

Her interests are restorative dentistry and aesthetic dentistry, using Invisalign aligners and composite bonding to straighten and restore teeth and transform smiles. She also enjoys working with anxious patients helping them gain confidence with dental treatment.

In 2018 she completed an advanced course in cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry in London, to develop her skills working with all the latest developments in dentistry. She has also just completed a Diploma in straightening teeth with Invisalign aligners, learning how to plan and carry our complex Invisalign treatments effectively.

She is keen on putting her dental skills to good use elsewhere and has carried out charity work in Tanzania and more recently in rural Panama where she practiced dentistry with no mains power or running water, sleeping outdoors in a hammock.

Her interests are very outdoor focussed, walking, running, wild swimming as well as gardening, growing food, and foraging. When not at work she likes to travel around Britain in her camper van with her husband and rescue dog.

Dr Kate Richardson

Dr Kate Richardson

Cosmetic & Restorative Dentist

Kate has over 10 years experience in dentistry having graduated from Cardiff University, School of Dentistry in 2010. Since qualifying, Kate has worked in general dental practice both in South Wales and in Houston, Texas, widening her dental knowledge and experience. Kate came to us in 2019 part-time but in September 2020 made the decision to move back to Devon and take a full-time position here at the practice.

Since returning from The United States in 2015, Kate has undertaken several courses to broaden her experience and skill set. She offers a full range of dental restorative treatment and cosmetic options, Invisalign and facial aesthetics treatments.

Kate has a natural empathy for treating and caring for nervous patients, giving them reassurance and confidence. Her passion for dentistry started in her teens when she worked here as a dental receptionist and nurse. Patients who are nervous and anxious about going to the dentist are especially happy with Kate: "We like to take things slow, explain everything in detail, and make sure our patients are truly comfortable in our practice.” Kate said.

When not in the dental surgery, Kate enjoys being active by running and walking her dogs, Betty & Olive. Kate grew up in Torbay, with her two younger sisters and is happily married.

Clare Edwards

Clare Edwards

Dental Hygienist

Clare gained her diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2002 from Birmingham Dental Hospital, with distinctions in Clinical Dentistry & Radiography. She was also awarded Hygienist of the Year. Since qualifying Clare has worked in both NHS and private dental practices. In 2004 she relocated from Bristol to Torquay. Clare joined our practice in 2009 and has become a very valuable member of the team. The hygienist plays a fundamental role in helping you to achieve a healthier mouth. Clare is very passionate about providing a high standard of patient care and making your Hygiene appointments a positive experience.

Clare aims to help individuals establish a daily cleaning routine, with preventative advice tailored towards each person. It is also necessary to gently remove the deposits and stains that may have built up on your teeth over time. Working in a kind and caring manner Clare strives to make each appointment as comfortable as possible for you. To achieve this, we can discuss the use of Desensitizing agents and anaesthetic gels. For some time, there has been much clinical research on the relationship between Oral health and General health. So, improving and maintaining your Oral health is as important as a healthy diet and regular exercise in achieving good general health and well-being.

As tooth-brushing alone only removes 60 % of the plaque bacteria responsible for causing tooth decay and gum disease. So, cleaning in between your teeth is crucial to improving plaque control. Clare can provide helpful dental hints and tips, but also work with patients to find which tools are right for you.

When not working Clare likes to make the most of living in the beautiful Torbay area, especially kayaking & paddle boarding with her husband and daughter.

Julia Crabtree

Julia Crabtree

When not working Julia is a busy mum to her three children and enjoys walking and supporting local Brixham businesses with her husband Matt.

In order to achieve the best results for her patients Julia’s aim is to try and make each patient feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible by giving encouragement and support throughout the appointment.
